We are proud to be carrying these creative and conscious Swedish sponge cloths from TenandCo. These are made to last up to 200 washes (YES! They're machine washable) and replace up to 17 rolls of paper towels. By switching over to the sponge cloth you reduce all that plastic waste and at the end of your sponge's life it will fully compost back into the earth. Each piece is made out of cellulose-cotton composition and 100% biodegradable.
Sponge cloths like these have been used in Swedish kitchens for over 60 years and each piece can absorb about 15X its own weight. The cloth is antibacterial because of its quick drying nature. You can sanitize these sponge cloths in your washing machine (air dry) or in the top rack of the dishwasher (up to 90 degrees celsius). Rise the cloth well after every use to avoid discoloration. Typically each sponge cloth should last about 2-3 months with average wear and tear, but they can last for as long as 6-12 months or 200 wash cycles.
